PingMe ("we", "us", or "our") provides a WhatsApp chat button application for Shopify merchants. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you install or use PingMe at https://pingme.solutions.
1. Who this policy applies to
This policy applies to:
- Merchants who install PingMe on their Shopify store.
- Store visitors who interact with the PingMe chat button on a merchant's storefront.
2. Information we collect
Merchant information
When a merchant installs PingMe, we receive and store information necessary to operate the app, including:
- Shop domain and Shopify store identifier
- Shopify access tokens required for app authentication and authorized API access
- App settings you configure, such as button appearance, WhatsApp agent labels, WhatsApp phone numbers, and pre-filled messages
- Basic usage data related to app configuration and dashboard activity
Storefront click analytics
When a visitor clicks the PingMe button on a merchant's storefront, we may record anonymous engagement data, including:
- Which agent label was selected
- Page type (for example, product page or other page)
- Product title and product URL, when available on product pages
- Date and time of the click
We do not collect Shopify customer names, email addresses, phone numbers, shipping addresses, order details, or other protected customer personal data through PingMe.
Information we do not collect
- Shopify customer account data
- Checkout or payment information
- Contents of WhatsApp conversations after a visitor leaves the storefront
3. How we use information
We use collected information to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the PingMe app
- Display the WhatsApp chat button on merchant storefronts
- Save merchant settings and preferences
- Show click analytics in the merchant dashboard
- Provide customer support and improve the app
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms
4. WhatsApp and third-party services
PingMe helps visitors open a chat in WhatsApp. When a visitor clicks the button, they are redirected to WhatsApp, which is operated by Meta Platforms, Inc. WhatsApp conversations and any personal information shared there are governed by WhatsApp's own privacy policy and terms, not this policy.
We also rely on:
- Shopify for app installation, authentication, and authorized store access
- Hosting providers to run pingme.solutions and store app data securely
5. Data sharing
We do not sell personal information. We may share information only:
- With service providers that help us host and operate the app
- When required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request
- To protect the rights, safety, and security of PingMe, merchants, or others
- In connection with a business transfer, such as a merger or acquisition
6. Data retention
We retain merchant account and app settings data for as long as the app remains installed or as needed to provide the service. Click analytics are retained to support reporting in the merchant dashboard. If a merchant uninstalls PingMe, we will delete or anonymize associated app data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of personal information. Merchants may contact us to request access to or deletion of app data associated with their store.
If you are a store visitor and have questions about data collected by a merchant using PingMe, please contact that merchant directly. WhatsApp-related data should be directed to WhatsApp/Meta.
9. International transfers
Information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own. By using PingMe, you consent to the transfer of information to facilities and service providers located in those countries.
10. Children's privacy
PingMe is not intended for use by children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of PingMe after changes become effective means you accept the updated policy.
